Where has Don been Lately?

This is the 6th installment of this page.  I like to call it a "living web page" since I will be updating it as I visit interesting places.  Check here often or at least once a month.  If you missed the previous pages, you can still view them by clicking on the following hyperlinks:

Since moving to Thailand on July 4th, 1999 I have traveled outside Thailand frequently, as well as many trips within in the country to places like Changmai in the northwest to Cha Am, Hua Hin, Chumpon, Krabi and Phuket to the southwest, Trat and Koh Chang to the southeast -- and of course Bangkok.

I took pleasure trips to China, Myanmar (Burma), Cambodia, Viet Nam, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and various places the US.

Here are a few photos from my recent travels that I hope you find interesting:

New Zealand  Carmen and I visited New Zealand in December of 2001.  We drove from Auckland in the north of the North Island to Wellington on the southern tip. We caught a ferry to the South Island and continued the beautiful drive down to Wanaka and Queenstown via the east coast route---.  The New Zealand scenery is diverse and beautiful, especially around the Wanaka and Queenstown area.

We then drove north along the west coast, visiting the glaciers along the way and stopping at the various quaint towns.  After the return ferry trip to the North Island we continued our drive the the northeast part of the island and spent two wonderful days scuba diving in the Poor Knights area.

The trip lasted nearly three weeks.  Here are a few photos of the experience:
